Frequently asked questions
Is this really made from real dough?
Yep — 100% real dough! Every charm starts as real bread: flour, water, yeast, and a little salt, hand-shaped and baked in our Toronto kitchen. Once it's baked, we seal it with a protective coating so it's ready to travel the world with you. Because it's real bread — no two charms are ever exactly alike. The little cracks and swirls are just it being its authentic, one-of-a-kind self.
Can I eat it?
Aw, we're flattered — but no. Once a charm is baked and sealed, it's made for wearing. Just adorable, not edible ;)
Will it get moldy, or attract bugs?
Every charm is fully sealed after baking to protect it from moisture. But it's still real bread at heart, so it isn't indestructible — with a little care (see below), it'll stay cute for a long time. If it ever starts to feel soft or look different, that's its way of asking for a rest in a dry spot.
Why does my charm look a little different from the photo?
Because it's real, hand-baked bread — not a mold! Every piece bakes up with its own crack pattern, swirl, and blush of colour. The one that reaches you is one-of-one, which is kind of the whole point.
How do I take care of it?
Keep it dry and away from direct water. Store it somewhere dry and cool when you're not wearing it, and give it a gentle wipe with a dry cloth if it picks up dust. Avoid leaving it in direct sun or a hot car for long stretches — heat isn't its best friend either.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and package size. Rural and remote addresses may have higher rates.
We always aim to offer the most reliable options with no hidden costs. If shipping looks higher than expected, email us at hello@doubiedough.com before ordering and we'll be happy to take a look.
Can I get it sooner?
Depending on the current baking schedule, rush orders may be possible. Please email hello@doubiedough.com before purchasing and we'll see what we can do.
Every little piece is handmade by one very busy pair of hands. Thank you so much for your patience and for supporting our tiny bakery! 🥐💛
I have another question — who do I ask?
